1. Who we are
Daniel Enrique Leiva Cardozo is the data controller for this website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website or use our services.
2. What personal data we collect and why
Contact Forms
When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any other information you choose to provide. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiries, provide quotes, and manage session bookings.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the blog, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Session Bookings & Payments
When you book a session or make a payment through our website, we collect the information necessary to process your booking, including your name, email, phone number, and payment details. Payments are processed through third-party payment providers (Nequi, PSE, and other applicable gateways), and we do not store your full payment card information on our servers.
Client Galleries
We provide private client galleries for viewing and selecting photos. Access to these galleries requires a user account. We collect your name, email address, and any other information you provide when creating your account. Photos uploaded to these galleries are stored securely and are only accessible to you and to us.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to enhance your experience. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our website. These tools collect anonymized data such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and referral sources. We currently do not use Google Analytics or similar tracking services, but may implement them in the future.
3. Who we share your data with
We share your data only with trusted third-party services that are necessary to operate our business:
-Hostinger (USA servers) – website hosting
-Payment processors (Nequi, PSE, and other applicable gateways) – for processing payments
-Email marketing services (if used in the future) – for sending updates and newsletters
-Client gallery platforms (such as PicTime, or future local solutions) – for delivering your photos securely
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties for marketing purposes.
4. How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (client gallery users), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Contact form submissions and booking data are retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which they were collected, or as required by law.
5. What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@daniel-leiva-photo.com.
6. Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Your data is stored on servers located in the United States (Hostinger). By using our website and services, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States for processing.
7. How we protect your data
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. Our website uses SSL encryption to secure data transmission. We rely on our hosting provider’s security measures (Hostinger) to protect the servers where your data is stored. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
